Paternity Actions
Paternity actions in Florida are legal proceedings used to establish the legal father-child relationship and to determine a Parenting Plan for parental responsibility, time-sharing, child support and pro-rated percentages for the child(ren)’s additional expenses. In Florida, if a child is born to unmarried parents, a Petition to Establish Paternity must be filed with the Court. Paternity may be legally established for each child through a DNA test, if necessary.
